Senior Systems & Controls Engineer

Salary: $150,000 - 190,000 per year Requirements:

• We need a candidate with at least 2 years of experience leading engineering teams.
• A bachelors degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field is required.
• We need the ability to lead work efforts and manage others.
• We expect a professional office schedule, with occasional non-regular hours.
• Strong technical documentation skills and excellent verbal and written communication are essential.
• Experience developing proposals and bidding on projects is required.
• We need the ability to create practical conceptual designs for complex systems.
• The role requires the ability to travel domestically and internationally, though travel is less than 10%.
• We require PLC and DCS programming and design experience with a broad range of control system and SCADA equipment.
• Experience interfacing with field devices such as thermocouples, RTDs, current loops, voltage, and discrete I/O is needed.
• We need the ability to specify and select DCS/PLC instrumentation, including field instruments.
• Experience with analog and digital electronic circuits is required.
• The candidate must be able to troubleshoot issues with data acquisition systems, networks, and AC/DC wiring.
• Preferred qualifications include equipment layout or panel design experience for end-user facilities.
• Preferred experience includes network design work such as VLAN planning, switch configuration, and basic routing.
• Familiarity with CAD tools such as Microsoft Visio or AutoCAD is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio C/C++/C# is preferred.
• Knowledge of Windows operating systems, system administration, and real-time application development is preferred.
• Familiarity with formal testing and integration, including unit testing and hardware/software integration, is preferred.

• You will review and approve engineering documents, including reports, drawings, and customer deliverables.
• You will ensure design reviews are conducted in line with business processes.
• You may support or lead proposal efforts, including market review, scope definition, risk assessment, and proposal writing.
• You will develop, review, test, troubleshoot, and refine hardware and software requirements with internal and external customers, and help others do the same.
• You will perform requirements capture and specification, feasibility studies, concept proofing, prototyping, and system design, development, testing, debugging, configuration, maintenance, and documentation.
• You will identify, evaluate, and select equipment suppliers and help with purchase requisitions.
• You will create and/or review system design documentation.
• You will create and/or review formal test documentation for SCADA computers, PLCs, system health and redundancy, and data acquisition.
• You will integrate third-party hardware and software, along with company-developed software, into systems.
• You will support deployed systems by analyzing and resolving system-related issues.
• You will follow established guidelines and procedures to ensure technical standards are met.
• You will demonstrate strong customer focus by responding to input in a timely, courteous, and effective way.
• You will take initiative as issues and opportunities arise by anticipating customer needs and company expectations.
