Forklift Operator

This role operates a sit-down forklift equipped with a slip sheet attachment in a cross-dock warehouse environment. You safely move, palletize, and handle material, completing multiple slip sheet loads per day while using RF scanners to track inventory and support production, picking, packing, and inspection activities.

Responsibilities

• Operate a sit-down forklift with a slip sheet attachment to complete approximately 510 full loads per day, with each load consisting of about 30 sheets.
• Safely load, unload, and move slip sheet loads within a cross-dock warehouse environment.
• Use RF scanning equipment to track inventory movements, confirm shipments, and maintain accurate records.
• Palletize products and materials according to established procedures and stacking requirements.
• Support production, picking, inventory, warehouse packing, and material handling activities as needed.
• Inspect loads, pallets, and materials for damage or irregularities and report issues promptly.
• Operate additional material handling equipment as needed, such as cherry pickers, reach trucks, clamp forklifts, and stand-up forklifts, if qualified.
• Follow all safety procedures and warehouse guidelines while operating forklifts and working around other equipment and personnel.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient warehouse operations.
• Use a valid driver's license responsibly when required for job-related tasks.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience operating sit-down forklifts.
• Hands-on experience working with slip sheet loads.
• Experience using RF scanning equipment in a warehouse setting.
• Experience working in a cross-dock warehouse environment.
• Ability to safely operate a sit-down forklift with slip sheet attachment and complete multiple loads per shift.
• Clean and valid driver's license.
• Ability to work scheduled daytime shifts, Monday through Friday.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with palletizing and material handling in a warehouse environment.
• Experience operating cherry pickers, reach trucks, clamp forklifts, and stand-up forklifts.
• Experience in production, picking, inventory, warehouse packing, and inspection.
• Bilingual communication skills are preferred.

Work Environment

You work in a non-climate-controlled cross-dock warehouse operating a sit-down forklift with a slip sheet attachment and standard forks to complete approximately 510 full loads of 30 sheets per day. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, with typical shifts of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The environment involves active material handling, use of RF scanners and various forklifts, and adherence to safety procedures throughout daily operations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
