Job Description and Duties

This position is hybrid and eligible for teleworking in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy. The number of telework days will vary based on operational needs , and the incumbent will be required to report to the office as needed. This is subject to change based on operational need. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Under the general direction of the Supervisor II, Chief of Administration, the Supervisor I, in the OAH Administration (Admin) Division, Employee Resource Unit (ERU) supervises the daily operations of the ERU, that is responsible for providing consultation, direction, and tools to internal and external stakeholders. The position provides supervision to subordinate staff and assists with developing, reviewing, interpreting and coordinating revisions to policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures utilizing general office equipment and software applications, including Microsoft (MS) Office Suite, virtual meeting platforms, various research platforms, and project management tools.
This position promotes and is accountable for customer satisfaction and quality service and initiates or recommends changes that encourage innovative solutions to meet and improve customer needs in accordance with all applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations, mandates and State Controller’s Office, California Department of Human Resources (CalHR), State Personnel Board (SPB), California Public Employees’ Retirement System, Department of Finance, DGS, and other control agency policies and procedures.

This position is Limited Term (12 months); it may become permanent, be extended up to 24 months, or be cancelled at any time.

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment and once per year.
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship by the start date of employment. The Department of General Services does not participate in E-Verify for employment authorization purposes.

Special Requirements
