NURSERY CAREGIVER - MAYFAIR

Job Position : NURSERY CAREGIVER (Position Description - part-time, hourly, non-exempt, administrative, and at‑will) Scope of Position Provide loving care to Crossing Community Church Nursery children (0‑3 years) to lay a firm foundation of faith in the lives of babies and toddlers. You, along with parents, are their first picture of God and His love. Organizational Relationship This position reports to the Pastor, Kids & Students - Mayfair. Responsibilities Arrive 30 minutes before event begins to set up room Greet parents and child warmly at the door, calling the child by name if known Ensure diaper bags and other belongings are marked with child’s name Check for name tag on child Check for diaper change needs and be aware of signs of discomfort Comply with security check‑in and out procedures as outlined in training manual Interact with children through age‑appropriate toys, books, music, etc. Attend mandatory training meetings annually Perform other duties as assigned by the Nursery Supervisor Schedule Usual work days are Sunday and as needed for special events Typical Sunday hours: 8:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Skills and Gifts Required for Position Love for babies/toddlers Knowledge of or willingness to learn about baby/toddler characteristics Dependable, punctual, consistent attendance Flexible, willing to work where needed Ability to get along with all people Friendly and cheerful Physical Requirements Able to perform physical activities that require standing, sitting, walking, lifting, balancing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, bending, using fingers, talking, hearing, hand/eye coordination Requires considerable use of the arms and legs for a period of 3–4 hours Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time Be able to walk a long distance (up to a quarter mile) May be exposed to illness-causing bacteria and viruses This is a safety‑sensitive position; the employee has the responsibility for his/her own safety and the safety of others, including minors Drug‑free workplace Spiritual Gifts A mature walk with Christ exhibiting the spiritual gifts of administration/organization, shepherding, teaching, encouragement, and service/helps. Education & Experience It is preferred that the applicant be 18 years old with childcare experience.
