Job Summary: BPX Energy is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Production Systems Engineer to join their team and help revolutionize US onshore operations. In this role, you will develop and deploy data-driven solutions that optimize production and streamline workflows while collaborating with various stakeholders to translate challenges into impactful software solutions. Responsibilities:
- Partner with Operations, Completions, and Interventions teams to identify opportunities for improvement and develop innovative solutions that leverage the power of data
- Design, develop, and deploy robust applications using Python, SQL, and Snowflake within the AWS cloud environment
- Champion the adoption of best practices for software development, including version control, code reviews, testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD)
- Collaborate with Technology and Production as a product owner to ensure the successful implementation and ongoing support of in-house solutions
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of enterprise-level systems and standards that drive efficiency
- Build intuitive and insightful reporting tools and dashboards using Streamlit, Power BI, or Spotfire to empower data-driven decision-making
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience in the oil and gas industry, particularly related to Petroleum Engineering
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, especially for data-intensive applications
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and Azure
- Competency with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- A passion for problem-solving and a strong analytical mindset
