The Welder Repair Technician troubleshoots and performs maintenance and repairs on welding systems and products. The technician performs work at the branch facilities and at customer locations and works in conjunction with company sales and operations staff to carry out timely services and deliveries to customers.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to troubleshoot and make necessary repairs and/or perform routine maintenance and NIST traceable calibration on all types of equipment and products including, but not limited to manual, robotic and semi-automatic GMAWP, GTAW and PAW welding equipment including many custom semi-automatic systems.
• Perform welder gun repairs including replacing tips, nozzles, liners, and/or fixing trigger switch wiring
• Maintain company provided diagnostic equipment, tools, and other equipment in clean, good working condition, and within manufacturer’s recommendations
• Communicate by phone and in person with vendors, customers, sales staff, and store managers
• Safely load, transport, and deliver items to businesses in a timely manner
• Follow safety procedures and attend safety meetings
• Perform other duties as assigned by management to ensure safety, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction

• Complete basic mathematical calculations and accurately fill out paperwork
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics and blueprints
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions
• Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Effectively plan, organize, and work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines
• Effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English and explain technical information to customers and associates
