Pediatric Hospitalist

Job Summary SUNY Upstate Medical University is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pediatric Advanced Practice Provider to join the Advanced Practice Provider Team at Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital. This position provides Full-Time Inpatient Care in a 12 Hour rotating shift capacity based on operational needs and assists the multidisciplinary team caring for patients admitted to the Pediatric Hospitalist Service. Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital serves a 22-county region providing a complete range of Health Care Services for children from Birth to 19 years. It is the regions only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center, verified by the American College of Surgeons and is one of the busiest Pediatric Trauma centers in New York State. Upstate operates 24 hours a day/Seven days a week, providing continuous care to our region. Key Responsibilities Provide expert level clinical care & coordination of care via a full range of services that will improve quality of patient care. Assessing & evaluating patients, ordering appropriate laboratory testing & diagnostic studies, arranging for referrals, testing, consultation & therapeutic services. Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, referring physicians, and all members of the health care team. As an APP , you will be an integral member of the Pediatrics Hospitalist Healthcare Team , demonstrating professionalism, leadership, and a commitment to Upstate’s mission, vision, and values , while adhering to all institutional policies and procedures. Minimum Qualifications Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant or eligible. NYS Licensed/Registered NP or PA. Current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice. Have a NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire. CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment. Must successfully pass pre-employment and credentialing clearances. Preferred Qualifications Inpatient and Pediatric experience preferred. Work Days 12 hour shifts, Days and Nights including Weekends and Holidays. Shifts are based on operational needs.
