Cusdial WorkerPay: $18- $21Shift: 4:00pm - 12:30amLocation: DavisJob DescriptionThe custodial worker provides routine and special cleaning services throughout a university-based community while supporting event setup and takedown for residents and the general public. This role promotes a welcoming, service-oriented environment by ensuring clean, safe, and well-maintained spaces and by delivering an inviting experience for residents, guests, and colleagues.ResponsibilitiesProvide routine and special cleaning services throughout the community to maintain a clean, safe, and inviting environment.Set up and take down events in various meeting rooms for residents and outside groups, including arranging chairs, tables, and audio/video equipment.Champion the organizations mission, vision, and core values by integrating them into daily work and interactions.Actively participate in the departments standard training program to build and improve custodial skills.Deliver an inviting experience for residents by viewing services as something done for them, not to them.Interact with residents, guests, and co-workers in a gracious, attentive, and courteous manner at all times.Operate special floor care equipment in public areas and residential units safely and in accordance with manufacturers guidelines.Clean assigned areas thoroughly, including restrooms, common areas, and other designated spaces.Complete minor maintenance tasks as assigned to support the overall upkeep of the facility.Shampoo carpets, wax floors, wash windows, and remove trash as part of regular and special cleaning routines.Ensure proper use of green cleaning solutions, chemicals, and cleaning supplies in line with safety and environmental standards.Remain knowledgeable of emergency procedures and respond calmly and appropriately in emergency situations.Seek opportunities to improve the quality of work, relationships, and processes within the department.Welcome regular feedback from supervisors, peers, and customers and apply it to meet or exceed expectations.Perform other related duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the community.Essential SkillsMinimum of 1 year of experience in custodial, cleaning, or a related field is preferred.Demonstrated skills in operating custodial and cleaning equipment and tools.Knowledge of green cleaning solutions, chemicals, and pertinent cleaning supplies.Ability to read and understand labels and follow written instructions and safety guidelines.Strong customer focus with the ability to provide courteous and attentive service.Effective communication skills to interact clearly and respectfully with residents, guests, and team members.Ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team.Action-oriented approach with a willingness to take initiative and complete tasks efficiently.Nimble learning mindset, with the ability to quickly absorb new information and apply training in daily work.Attention to detail in cleaning tasks and event setups.Additional Skills & QualificationsCommitment to continuous quality improvement in work processes and relationships.Openness to regular feedback from supervisors, peers, and customers, with a clear understanding of expectations.Positive attitude and professional demeanor when interfacing with employees and residents.Comfort working in a dynamic environment that includes both routine tasks and special projects.Ability to adapt to varying schedules and event requirements as needed.Why Work Here?You will join a community that places a strong emphasis on employee culture, mutual respect, and meaningful service.
