Rackley Roofing is looking for an experienced Commercial Roofing Superintendent to help lead our field operations in Nashville and throughout Middle Tennessee.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Commercial Roofing Superintendent, you'll oversee field roofing personnel and help ensure our commercial roofing projects are completed safely, efficiently, profitably, and to Rackley Roofing's quality standards.

Lead Our Field Operations

• Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of commercial roofing field personnel.
• Work closely with Foremen, Project Managers, Operations leadership, customers, and General Contractors.
• Set clear expectations for field teams and hold crews accountable for safety, quality, productivity, and jobsite professionalism.
• Help develop Foremen and field employees through coaching, communication, and hands-on leadership.
• Monitor labor, materials, production, and other job costs to help projects meet profitability expectations.
• Identify field challenges early and work with the appropriate teams to develop solutions.
• Ensure Rackley Roofing policies, procedures, and operational standards are followed.

Own Project Mobilization & Execution

• Participate in preconstruction meetings to understand project scope, specifications, schedules, logistics, and customer expectations.
• Review and monitor project mobilization plans, including material storage, deliveries, roof access, hoisting, dumpsters, interior protection, equipment, and site logistics.
• Document existing site and building conditions before work begins.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure field personnel have the information and resources needed to perform the work successfully.
• Monitor projects throughout construction and ensure sites are properly closed out during demobilization.

Protect Quality
You'll serve as one of our key quality-control leaders in the field.

You'll regularly inspect projects to ensure:

• Roofing substrates are acceptable before installation begins.
• Work follows project specifications, approved shop drawings, manufacturer requirements, and scope of work.
• Materials are properly stored, protected, and installed.
• Correct adhesives, fasteners, fastening patterns, laps, joints, and staggering are being used.
• Required installation temperatures, coverage rates, and material thickness are being maintained.
• Sheet metal, flashings, underlayments, coatings, and other components meet project requirements.
• Deficiencies are identified, documented, communicated, and corrected.
• Jobsites remain clean, organized, and professional.
• Projects are properly prepared before rain or severe weather events.

Keep Safety at the Forefront

Safety is everyone's responsibility, but our field leaders set the standard.

You'll work with our teams to:

• Reinforce Rackley Roofing's safety expectations on every project.
• Monitor job-site conditions and identify potential hazards.
• Verify that required fall-protection and safety equipment is properly installed and secured.
• Pay particular attention to changing weather and high-wind conditions.
• Communicate safety concerns immediately and ensure corrective action is taken.

Document the Work

Accurate reporting helps protect our customers, our employees, and our company.

You'll complete and/or verify timely Daily Reports that capture important project information, including:

• Weather and site conditions.
• Crew size and subcontractors onsite.
• Areas and scope of work completed.
• Production quantities and hours worked.
• Deliveries and site visitors.
• Material conditions and storage.
• Existing roof, building, substrate, and site conditions.
• Demolition and installation progress.
• Fastening, adhesive, lapping, and installation patterns.
• Deck replacement, framing, nailers, sheet metal, underlayments, coatings, and flashings.
• Quality-control testing and inspections.
• Jobsite conditions at completion.
• Incidents, concerns, and deficiencies.
• Supporting project photographs.

Any deficiencies identified will be communicated promptly to the appropriate Foreman, Project Manager, and Operations leadership.

Requirements:

What You Bring

Required

• Minimum 3–5 years of commercial roofing experience .
• Minimum 1 year of commercial roofing Superintendent experience .
• Strong working knowledge of commercial roofing systems, installation practices, materials, and manufacturers.
• Experience leading commercial roofing Foremen and field crews.
• Ability to read and understand construction documents, specifications, scopes of work, and shop drawings.
• Understanding job costs, labor productivity, materials, and project profitability.
• Strong knowledge of commercial roofing quality-control practices.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and field teams.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers, General Contractors, Project Managers, and field personnel.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel between assigned project locations.

Physical Requirements

This is a field leadership position that requires regular presence on commercial roofing jobsites. The position may require standing and walking for extended periods; climbing ladders and accessing commercial roofs; balancing, lifting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling; and working in varying outdoor and jobsite conditions.
