Exciting Opportunity for CVICU Registered Nurse!

Job Description:


- Location: San Antonio, TX
- Unit: CVICU (650)
- Shift Details:
- 7A-7:30P / 7P-7:30A
- Rotating weekends
- Assignment Length: 13/26 Weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36

Key Responsibilities:


- Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced Cardiac Intensive Care Unit
- Monitor hemodynamic status, including Swan-Ganz catheters and arterial lines
- Manage ventilators and support patients with advanced cardiac devices
- Collaborate with a team of skilled healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes
- Float to other units as needed, adhering to the facility's floating policy

Qualifications:


- Active Texas RN License (No temporary licenses accepted)
- 2 years or more of ICU experience
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- NIHSS certification is required
- Preferred skills include:
- IABP exposure
- CRRT exposure
- Experience with Meditech charting/order entry

Unit Specifics:


- Procedures performed include:
- Post CABG
- Post VAD
- Post catheterization with various cardiac support devices (IABP, Impella, ECMO)

Dress Code:


- Scrub Color: Navy scrub top and pant; navy or white scrub jacket
- Hair: Neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors
- Facial Hair: Clean, neatly trimmed beards, mustaches, and sideburns
- Tattoos: Must be covered whenever possible
- Piercings: Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited

Unit Guidelines/Policies:


- Mandatory badging in and out for shifts
- Full 30-minute lunch break required
- Timeliness: Clock in by 6:38 am/pm; after 6:45 considered tardy
