Ability to understand the needs of high school students and relate to them in learning and recreational settings; learn requirements of specific learning programs; analyze situations accurately and adopt effective action; supervise students; maintain accurate records. Operate standard office equipment; remain calm under stress; understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Independent understanding of oral and written instructions; adequate typing and computer skills for clerical duties; maintain cooperative relationships. General clerical experience and work involving supervision of students desirable. Must have completed high school (preferably supplemented by college‑level courses). Demonstrate familiarity with minority culture. Must pass district’s bilingual certification test in Spanish (oral, reading, writing). Required Documents High School Diploma or GED plus one of the following: Proof of passing Paraprofessional Exam from any district AA Degree or higher At least 48 college units or 72 quarter units Criminal history check required prior to employment Duties Assist teachers in instruction, supervision, and training of individual or groups of students by performing various instructional support and student care activities; provide a positive learning environment.
