Estimator

Overview We are seeking an experienced Estimator to support large-scale Transmission & Distribution (T&D) and substation capital projects in the pre construction phase. This role will play a key part in developing accurate cost estimates across the full project lifecycle, supporting critical infrastructure initiatives including grid modernization, substation upgrades, and transmission line projects. Responsibilities Develop detailed cost estimates and budgets for utility capital projects, including substations and transmission/distribution infrastructure Reanalyze drawings, specifications, and scope documents to determine labor, material, and equipment costs Support estimates across all phases—conceptual, preliminary, and detail Collaborate with engineering, project management, and construction teams to validate scope and assumptions Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for civil, electrical, and structural components Evaluate vendor and contractor bids, ensuring alignment with project scope and market conditions Track and incorporate historical cost data, benchmarks, and market trends Identify cost risks, gaps, and value engineering opportunities Support change order pricing and cost impact analysis throughout project execution Prepare and present estimate summaries and reports to stakeholders Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of experience in estimating within utilities, construction, or infrastructure projects Experience supporting T&D, substation, or large-scale capital projects preferred Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and utility systems Proficiency in estimating tools and Excel (experience with industry tools is a plus) Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
