Rental Sales Representative

Under the general supervision of the Rental Sales Manager, the Rental Sales Representative is responsible for selling and renting new and used Caterpillar and Allied products. The Rental Sales Representative establishes new customer relationships and provides support to existing customers to secure rentals and equipment sales. The Rental Sales Representative prepares rental and sales proposals, completes contracts, and coordinates equipment preparation. The Rental Sales Representative is actively involved in the marketing of product lines in territory.

Essential functions include attracting potential customers, assisting customers in selection and application of equipment, ensuring all business transactions are conducted in accordance with company policies, preparing professional sales and rental presentations and quotations for customers, completing sales and purchasing agreements, providing quality customer service, maintaining professional knowledge, preparing reports, and performing other duties as assigned.

Education, experience, and skills required include a high school diploma or equivalent, a bachelor's degree in marketing or business is preferred, a valid driver's license with a good driving record, PC skills, the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing, two years' experience in rental material handling, heavy equipment sales, and capital goods retail sales and service, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, a positive attitude and being a self-starter, the ability and willingness to travel, and logistical experience preferred.

Physical demands include walking, handling, lifting, reaching, stooping, standing, climbing, vision, talking, and sitting. The environmental conditions include noise, temperature and weather variations, and exposure to foul odors, fumes, and harsh substances.
