College Internship - Safety Management

We partner with a wide variety of clients to provide mass grading, underground wet and dry utilities, excavation, and backfill services for residential and industrial construction projects in Iowa and Eastern Nebraska.

Position Description:

Looking for an exciting opportunity in the construction industry? McAninch Corporation is looking for interns for next summer (May-Aug 2027). Our interns will work with our Safety Team to monitor safe working conditions for our most valuable asset - our employees! Interns will participate in safety audits, coaching, incident investigations, and training. Interns assist in monitoring various construction projects and help assure compliance with relevant government regulations when visiting job sites.

Qualifications:

• Current college student pursuing a degree in Safety Management, Occupational Safety, or a related program.
• Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work outside in hot, cold, and wet conditions.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from job sites as required.
• US Citizenship required. This position is NOT eligible for Visa Sponsorship.

Physical Requirements:

• Primarily sedentary work, requiring the ability to sit for extended periods of time.
• Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, data entry, and operating office equipment.
• Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching within an office environment.
• Ability to occasionally work outdoors and stand/walk on uneven terrain.
• Ability to lift and carry light objects, typically up to 10 lbs.

Compensation:

Interns are paid an hourly wage of $22.00 per hour. This temporary position is not eligible for benefits.
