Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking dedicated and skilled Registered Nurses to join our medical surgical unit. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven track record in acute care nursing, effectively managing diverse patient populations and clinical situations.

Position Overview

This position involves working night shifts within a 12-hour framework, guaranteeing 36 hours of work per week. The selected candidates will be expected to self-schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts within a six-week period, while adhering to the staffing needs and unit requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver optimal patient care in alignment with clinical guidelines.
• Capably manage a diverse range of diagnoses, including stroke, spine, neuro trauma, and general medical-surgical conditions.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams and float to various units as necessary based on patient needs.
• Maintain the ability to read telemetry strips; centrally monitored off the unit.
• Participate in ongoing education and training to uphold a high standard of care.
• Ensure effective communication with patients and their families to facilitate care and improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in acute care nursing.
• Demonstrated proficiency in managing moderate oxygen needs, and familiarity with analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives.
• Ability to work within a team structure and engage in collaborative practice.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Medical Surgical
• Number of Beds: 37
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:4/5 during the day, 1:5/6 at night
• Support staff available: Nurse Aides at a ratio of 1:12
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling options are available for better work-life balance.

Orientation & Training

Orientation week will be provided, and it is essential for clinicians to be available in-state during this period. Further training specifics will be assigned during the orientation week.

Dress Code

Uniforms will consist of navy blue scrubs. Scrubs will not be provided; candidates are expected to adhere to the specified dress code.
