About the Role
We are looking for a

Commerce Strategy & Operations Expert

who deeply understands how businesses buy, sell, and operate — and is excited about reimagining those workflows with AI.

You will work closely with customers, Business Development, and Product teams to uncover real business pain points, identify high-value AI use cases, and turn those insights into solutions that drive product adoption and usage.

This role is ideal for someone with hands-on commerce experience, strong customer intuition, and a practical, AI-native mindset.

What You'll Do

Work directly with U.S. merchants, buyers, brands, importers, distributors, and other businesses to understand their day-to-day workflows and pain points.

Identify high-value opportunities where AI agents can improve or redesign workflows across sourcing, procurement, e-commerce operations, marketing, customer service, and other business functions.

Translate customer needs into clear use cases, workflows, demos, and value propositions.

Partner with Business Development on customer discovery, pilots, and strategic opportunities to improve adoption and conversion.

Serve as a key voice of the customer to Product and R&D teams, synthesizing feedback and identifying recurring needs and product opportunities.

Turn successful customer use cases into repeatable playbooks that can scale across customer segments.

Track adoption and identify opportunities to improve engagement, repeat usage, and long-term customer value.

Actively experiment with AI tools and agents and develop a strong point of view on how AI can transform commerce workflows.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in e-commerce, marketplaces, commerce operations, merchant strategy, business operations, solutions, or a related field, including hands-on experience operating an e-commerce business or directly managing merchant operations on Amazon, Shopify, or a comparable e-commerce platform.

Strong understanding of end-to-end commerce workflows, including how businesses source and buy products as well as how they sell and operate.

Experience working directly with merchants, sellers, buyers, brands, distributors, or SMBs.

Strong customer discovery and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root problems beyond stated customer requests.

Hands-on experience applying AI tools, automations, or agents to real e-commerce workflows, with a track record of delivering significant, measurable results such as revenue growth, conversion improvement, cost reduction, or productivity gains.

Strong commercial judgment and the ability to connect customer pain points with measurable business value.

Excellent cross-functional communication skills and comfort working across BD, Product, Operations, and technical teams.

Comfortable working in a fast-moving, ambiguous, 0-to-1 environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on experience operating an e-commerce business, marketplace seller, DTC brand, importer, distributor, or wholesaler.

Experience at an e-commerce platform, marketplace, or commerce SaaS company.

Experience building or implementing AI-powered workflows, automations, or agent-based solutions.

Mandarin Chinese is a plus for collaboration with China-based Product and R&D teams.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $148,800/year and $278,400/year. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
