About the job Investment Banking Associate 2 Renewable Energy M&A (Boutique) Our Client, a leader in the renewable energy investment banking sector, is seeking a dynamic and motivated Investment Banking Associate to join their Renewable Energy M&A team. This role is designed for a professional who is passionate about the renewable energy industry and possesses a strong background in finance, particularly in M&A, capital markets, project finance, tax equity, and highly leveraged/mezzanine transactions. Ideal candidates should have 3-4 years experience in energy transition investment banking. Key Responsibilities Execute financial analysis, modeling, and valuation for renewable energy, energy storage, and green chemistry transactions Prepare pitch materials and transaction documents for capital raising and M&A mandates Conduct detailed industry research and financial analysis to support deal origination efforts Assist in developing and managing client relationships across the low-carbon ecosystem Create detailed financial models for project finance transactions, including tax equity structures, debt facilities, and mezzanine capital arrangements Support due diligence processes for buy‑side and sell‑side transactions Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to structure creative capital solutions for emerging clean energy technologies Contribute to industry thought leadership initiatives to strengthen our client’s market position Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred 3-5 years of investment banking experience, with demonstrable exposure to renewable energy, energy storage, green chemistry, or related sectors Strong financial modeling skills with experience in project finance structures Excellent understanding of energy markets, renewable technologies, and decarbonization trends Superior analytical capabilities and attention to detail Outstanding written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines Self‑motivated with a passion for accelerating the energy transition Sectors of Focus Energy Storage : Stand‑alone, behind‑the‑meter, and renewables+storage applications Green Chemistry : Renewable fuels, industrial biotech, and waste‑to‑value processes Renewable Generation : Utility‑scale, community, C&I and residential solar, wind development Energy Transition : Decarbonization technologies requiring innovative financing solutions Service Areas M&A, financing, and capital structure solutions Strategic and buy‑side advisory Project finance advisory for structured capital products Capital raising across debt, equity, and specialized instruments Compensation Base salary range: $175,000 - $225,000 Competitive discretionary bonus structure #J-18808-Ljbffr Prospect Rock Partners
