Senior Director Internal Communications

As the Senior Director, Internal Communications, you will shape and lead enterprise-wide communications that connect Hilton Team Members to our purpose, business priorities, culture, and strategy. On the Corporate Affairs team, reporting to the Vice President, Internal Communications & Community Partnerships, you will lead the development and delivery of integrated internal communications across Hilton's global organization. You will provide strategic counsel to senior leaders, strengthen how information flows across the enterprise, and create compelling communications that help Team Members understand the business, see how their work contributes, and feel connected to Hilton's purpose and customer promise. What you'll do during a typical day: Lead Hilton's enterprise internal communications strategy, ensuring Team Members understand the company's purpose, business priorities, culture, and performance. Translate complex enterprise strategies and organizational priorities into clear, compelling narratives that are meaningful and actionable for Team Members. Develop integrated communications plans for company-wide initiatives, organizational changes, leadership priorities, culture efforts, and key moments across the Team Member experience. Oversee the development and delivery of high-impact communications across internal channels, including enterprise messages, leadership communications, digital platforms, Team Member meetings, and other engagement forums. Strengthen communications planning and governance to improve coordination, sequencing, consistency, and effectiveness across audiences, functions, and regions. Use Team Member insights, channel analytics, and feedback to evaluate communications effectiveness and continuously improve content, channels, and engagement. Identify emerging issues, information gaps, and communication risks, recommending proactive strategies that build clarity, confidence, and trust. How you'll collaborate with others: Serve as a trusted communications advisor to senior leaders, helping them communicate with clarity, authenticity, and impact. Partner closely with Corporate Affairs, Human Resources, business functions, regional communications teams, and other stakeholders to deliver integrated and aligned communications strategies. Build strong relationships across Hilton's global, matrixed organization to ensure communications reflect diverse Team Member perspectives and local market needs. Partner with executive communications colleagues to align enterprise narratives, leadership messages, and Team Member communications. Lead and develop a high-performing internal communications team, fostering clear accountability, strong collaboration, professional growth, and operational excellence. Establish effective ways of working across the internal communications function, including clear roles, decision rights, planning processes, and service expectations. Provide strategic guidance to communications partners and business leaders during periods of significant change, transformation, or heightened Team Member interest. Projects you'll take ownership of: Build and evolve Hilton's enterprise internal communications strategy and operating model to support changing business and Team Member needs. Develop an integrated editorial and channel strategy that delivers relevant, timely, and consistent communications across the enterprise. Lead communications for major business priorities, organizational transformations, leadership announcements, culture initiatives, and enterprise-wide Team Member programs. Strengthen change communications capabilities by creating scalable approaches, tools, and resources that help leaders and teams navigate change effectively. Evolve internal communications channels and content formats to improve reach, accessibility, relevance, and Team Member engagement. Advance innovative approaches to internal communications, including responsible use of emerging tools and AI-enabled content development to enhance quality, personalization, effectiveness, and scale. Establish meaningful measures of communications effectiveness and use insights to inform strategy, channel investments, and continuous improvement. Develop leader communication tools and resources that equip leaders at all levels to communicate enterprise priorities consistently and effectively. What It Takes to Make the Stay You have these minimum qualifications: Eight (8) years of professional experience in Internal Communications, Corporate Communications, Employee Communications, Change Communications, Public Relations, or a related field within a corporate or agency environment. Three (3) years of experience leading teams, including direct people management and/or leading through influence in a matrixed organization. Three (3) years of experience developing and delivering enterprise internal communications strategies within a global organization. Professional experience working in a global, corporate, matrixed environment. Demonstrated experience advising senior executives and shaping communications for high-visibility, complex, or sensitive business situations. Demonstrated experience translating business strategy and complex information into clear, audience-focused communications. Experience leading communications for organizational change, transformation, or enterprise-wide initiatives. Experience developing communications across multiple internal channels and Team Member audiences. Travel up to 25%. It would be useful if you have: Experience in hospitality, travel, or another consumer-facing industry. Experience developing enterprise content, editorial, or internal channel strategies. Experience working across global regions and adapting communications for different audiences, markets, and cultures. Experience using Team Member insights, channel analytics, and other measures to evaluate communications effectiveness. Experience supporting culture, engagement, or employee experience initiatives. Experience working with or managing communications agencies, consultants, or external partners. Experience leveraging digital tools or AI to enhance communications effectiveness, personalization, and scale. The pay range for this role is $145,000 – $210,000 and is determined based on applicable and specialized experience and location. Subject to plan terms and conditions, you will be eligible to participate in the Hilton Annual Incentive (Bonus) Plan, and the Company’s long-term incentive plan, consistent with other team members at the same level and/or position within the Company.
