Registered Nurse

Position Title: Nurse‑RN‑ HCP071 Position Number: [Not specified]. Work Unit: AACSB Administration. County: Dougherty. Immediate Supervisor's Title: Youth and Young Adult Coordinator. Qualifications Documentation skills meeting legal and professional standards; maintains records appropriately; knowledge of HIPAA. Can access, plan for, and provide basic nursing skills; familiar with developing, implementing, and revising care plans. Knowledge of nursing policies, procedures, protocols, treatments, standards of care, and the nurse practice act. Proficient in medication administration, including oral, sublingual, and IV routes, and knowledgeable in pharmacology. Familiar with immunization regulations and protocols. Able to perform CPR and, on certain sites, AED. Skilled in holistic assessment and care; can apply therapeutic and diagnostic techniques and provide holistic client care. Knowledgeable about clients with special needs, including high‑risk and various age groups. Can determine whether a patient has received appropriate care and assess staff competency in specific areas. Document problems and/or needs identified from the treatment plan; competent in completing treatment plans. Team leadership experience. Knowledge of examination preparation, use of medical equipment, and federal and state guidelines governing programs. Understand unit needs planning and instrument sterilization; able to maintain a sterile field. Familiar with diet and nutrition guidelines and client physical activity; able to conduct health education sessions for individuals and groups. A current Georgia license to practice as a registered professional nurse is required. Physical requirement: no lifting of more than 20 pounds. Assigned Duties Assess client health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled clients. Advise clients on health maintenance, disease prevention, or provide case management. Consult and coordinate with the health care team to access, plan, implement, and evaluate client care plans. Maintain accurate, detailed reports and client records. Modify client treatment plans based on responses and conditions. Observe nurses and visit clients to ensure proper nursing care is provided. Prepare clients for and assist with examinations and treatments. Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies; ensure stock is maintained. Provide healthcare and first aid. Perform routine and stat blood draws and specimen collection in accordance with clinical protocols. Administer prescribed medications, including injections. Maintain a 50% billable productivity. Complete all required documentation within 24 hours of the date of service. Provide education to clients and families.
