Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Description

Job Summary:

BACKFILL - TRAVEL - RN - ICU - COST CENTER (650) - 7:00PM - 7:00AM is a registered nurse role providing advanced critical care for patients requiring close monitoring and life-sustaining interventions. The RN will deliver evidence-based ICU care, lead bedside communication, and support smooth unit operations through accurate documentation and teamwork.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver ICU nursing care for high-acuity patients with attention to safety, stability, and rapid response.
• Manage ventilators and perform IV drip titration according to clinical protocols and physician orders.
• Monitor patients using cardiac and hemodynamic tools, including arterial line assessment and troubleshooting.
• Perform and assist with critical procedures including intubation, central line insertions, and arterial line insertions.
• Execute BSSR (bedside shift report) and uphold AIDET and patient experience expectations during every shift.
• Complete timely documentation in Meditech and coordinate care to meet unit standards and quality goals.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license and demonstrate at least 2 years of ICU experience.
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certification.
• Possess NIHSS certification or be able to obtain per unit requirements.
• Demonstrate strong teamwork and the ability to mentor and support new graduate nurses.
• Show proficiency with ventilator management, IV titration, and arterial line care in critical care settings.
• Be willing to float to Med-Surg or ED as needed for critical staffing, including weekend coverage.
