Transform Lives Through Communication in the Vibrant City of New York – Become Our Next Speech Language Pathologist
Imagine a career that doesn't just involve treating conditions but actively empowers individuals to forge connections through the art of language and expression. As a Speech Language Pathologist nestled in the exhilarating environment of New York City, your daily contributions transcend the realms of therapy — they inspire hope, restore confidence, and foster relationships, spanning from young children articulating their first sentences to elderly individuals reclaiming their ability to connect with loved ones.
In this rewarding role, you will have the chance to work with diverse patients across the lifespan in a dynamic setting that seamlessly integrates outpatient therapy and occasional inpatient facilitation. Whether your forte lies in nurturing the speech of toddlers, aiding adults with neurogenic disorders, or providing cognitive rehabilitation for the elderly, you will discover an enriching variety of experiences and challenges here.
Conduct comprehensive evaluations for children, adults, and seniors using a combination of standardized assessment tools and observational methods.
Design tailored therapy programs aimed at achieving both immediate goals and sustained developmental milestones in communication, cognitive functions, or swallowing capabilities.
Administer individualized speech therapy sessions targeting communication skills, language development, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing difficulties.
Engage collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, medical staff, family members, and caregivers, to craft holistic care approaches.
Facilitate education for patients and families, empowering them with strategies that promote progress beyond therapy sessions.
Participate in occasional inpatient speech evaluations and therapeutic interventions to ensure a continuum of care.
Maintain meticulous documentation in accordance with regulatory standards and institutional protocols.
Commit to lifelong learning through continuous education and teamwork within the professional community.
A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.
Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) highly preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for all age groups, coupled with a solid grasp on both developmental and acquired communication and swallowing disorders.
Superb interpersonal skills with a focus on empathetic communication with patients, families, and collaborative healthcare teams.
Ability to modify therapeutic techniques to accommodate various cultural and linguistic nuances.
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
Comfort navigating electronic medical records and documentation standards.
Attractive salary structure commensurate with experience.
Flexible work hours fostering a healthy work-life equilibrium and diverse caseloads.
Paths for specialization across pediatrics, neurorehabilitation, or geriatric care.
Generous paid time off (PTO) alongside holiday remuneration.
Access to comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance packages.
Financial support for continuing education and career advancement opportunities.
A collaborative environment prioritizing quality care and ongoing development.
A Journey of Growth and Connection Awaits
In this position, you will not only offer speech therapy; you will immerse yourself in a mission founded on empathy and healing. You'll help restore voices and create lasting connections, making everyday interactions impactful and meaningful.
With colleagues who genuinely support one another, you will thrive in an institution that prioritizes cooperation over competition. Each patient brings a unique narrative, and you will play an instrumental role in shaping how that narrative unfolds.
