Schedule/Shift

Schedule: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week. Weekend work is required (4 weekend days).

Job Description

The Emergency Department (ED) is a fast-paced unit equipped to handle a diverse patient population. The unit has 26 beds and typically maintains a patient ratio of 4:1. The team consists of 67 staff members, including RNs, Patient Care Technicians, and Charge Nurses, available for day and night shifts. The unit utilizes advanced equipment such as ventilators and EKG machines, and documentation is maintained through EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform IV insertions, EKGs, Foley catheter placements, and lumbar punctures.
• Administer moderate sedation and perform cardioversion when necessary.
• Work collaboratively with a team to ensure high-quality patient care.

Required Experience

• Current RN licensure in the state of Texas.
• Experience in the Emergency Department or similar high-acuity settings.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications are required.
• STABLE and NRP certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
