LEAP Clinical CoordinatorFor 30 years, LEAP has worked with children, teenagers, and young adults in New Haven, Connecticut in some of the lowest income urban neighborhoods in America. As the largest youth agency in our city, we provide academic support, social enrichment, and leadership development, but we do so in a unique way. We give older students (ages 16-24) the training, education, and resources they need to work as counselors and Leaders-in-Training to our younger students (ages 7-15). In doing so, we go beyond impacting individual lives through education and employment. We build a community with power and purpose.The Clinical Coordinator independently provides a range of clinical support to LEAP staff members with acute mental health issues.This is a temporary full-time, 40-hour per week position that lasts until October 2026.Important and essential duties:Conducts assessments to provide clinical diagnoses and treatment recommendations and/or plansProvides routine crisis consultationResponsible for assessing quality assurance for contracted evaluators and reviews evaluations for completeness and accuracyPrepares statistical and administrative reports and correspondenceServes as liaison to public and private agenciesCoordinates with affiliates and partners for clinical careProvides referrals for IOPQualifications:Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Counselor, LPC/ LSW/MSW/LMSW3+ Years of professional experience in child/adolescent mental healthEvidence of strong partnership building skills and presence in the communityAbility to work within a team structure; excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communications skills; organizational talent as a multi-taskerFlexibility to work evenings and weekendsKnowledge:Considerable knowledge of complex behavioral health issues, family dynamics and child developmentKnowledge and understanding of social, cultural and economic psychological and legal issues influencing the attitudes and behaviors of clients and their familiesKnowledge of relevant agency and partnership policies and proceduresEducation and training: Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities would be qualifying.Education: Bachelor's degree or higherStarting salary is commensurate with experience and other.
