Child Psychiatrist

Duties The successful candidate will practice in the area of Child Psychology, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of developmental disabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the psychologist will be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, psychology graduate students, and fellows. Qualifications Applicants must hold a PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology from an APA/CPA‑accredited graduate program with an APA/CPA‑approved internship and post‑doctoral training in neurodevelopmental disabilities. Candidates must be immediately eligible for licensure in West Virginia at the time of appointment. Applicants must demonstrate strong awareness of and adherence to evidence‑based strategies for the evaluation and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders. The position involves clinical, teaching/supervision, and research responsibilities. The psychologist will work primarily with an interdisciplinary team to evaluate and treat patients ages 0‑15 at the WVU Medicine Children’s Neurodevelopmental Center. The candidate will also participate in the APA‑accredited clinical psychology internship (Clinical Child Track) and the Pediatric Fellowship, and will have opportunities for involvement with interdisciplinary clinics and outreach.
