Schedule

Full-time, Night Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM

Job Description

The competent Nurse, within a Level III Trauma Center, practices independently while demonstrating an awareness of all relevant aspects of clinical situations. This role includes providing both routine and complex care, and the ability to address long-range goals. Continuous development in coping with and managing the contingencies of clinical nursing is essential.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of applicable One CHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Utilizes nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresing increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments according to protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in related nursing specialty required.
• Licensure: RN License in the state of Texas or compact.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS required (American Heart Association only).
