Warehouse Lead

Position Summary Responsible for coordinating the shipping, receiving, and storage of any and all materials necessary to meet the production requirements of PCL's sales demand. Additional duties will be to monitor Warehouse personnel daily activities and supervise all areas of operation on the Warehouse floor. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Handle shipping and receiving functions to support other departments to attain their functional goals Provide coordination and direction between the Warehouse Attendants and warehouse shipments/movements Conduct initial training and monitor performance progression of all Warehouse Attendants Assist in the creation, upkeep, and implementation of Warehouse standard operating procedures Assist Warehouse Manager / Supervisor in problem-solving in coordination with other departments, as requested Supervise duties and/or projects assigned to Warehouse staff by Warehouse Manager / Supervisor Conduct Warehouse Attendant / Shipping & Receiving Clerk duties, as needed Responsible for quality and continuous improvement within the job scope Contributes to and supports the corporation's quality initiatives by encouraging team and individual contributions toward the corporation's quality improvement efforts Performs other duties and responsibilities, as assigned Minimum Job Qualifications and Requirements Minimum 3 years related work experience in Warehouse Operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment, but not required One year work experience in a leadership role Must be certified to operate a Forklift A thorough understanding of the manufacturing process and quality control procedures used in a manufacturing warehousing environment Ability to forecast, analyze, and identify improvement opportunities in the Warehouse Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills Excellent organizational and follow-through skills; to include the ability to multi-task Strong leadership and interpersonal skills in order to be able to lead Warehouse employees to the completion of their assigned job duties Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to relay information with tact, diplomacy, patience, and professionalism Good business writing skills with proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar to create written instructions, memos, and correspondence, as needed Must be able to demonstrate analytical ability in identifying problems, developing solutions, and implementing a course of action PC Skills including Word, Excel and Outlook, and other corporate software programs or comparable software Warehouse Safety experience to include the ability to provide proper training and oversight for all Warehouse employees on Forklift Safety, Proper Lifting, and Fall Harness Protection usage Ability to effectively communicate in English via speaking, writing, and reading Must be willing to work overtime or on weekends, as the workload demands Work Environment Work occasionally near mechanical parts and in high places Exposure to cold temperatures in the winter and hot temperatures in the summer Occasional duties in an outside environment Duties are performed primarily in a smoke-free warehouse environment Physical Requirements Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, balance, reach, and twist Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
