Payroll Tax Analyst

Our client is seeking a Payroll Tax Analyst to join their growing team in Nashville, TN. This role will play a critical part in ensuring payroll is processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations across a multi-entity organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong payroll tax expertise, experience managing complex payroll processes across multiple states and facilities, and a collaborative mindset focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence. Duties Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls across multiple entities, including off-cycle payrolls, while ensuring accuracy and compliance. Review payroll reports, analyze discrepancies, and resolve payroll-related issues in a timely manner. Enter and manage payroll deductions, garnishments, child support orders, and tax levies within the payroll system. Support payroll tax compliance activities, including tax reconciliations, tax payments, quarterly and annual filings, and year-end processing. Create ad hoc payroll reports and analyses to support business and operational needs. Partner with Accounting, Finance, and external auditors to provide payroll-related information and documentation. Collaborate with payroll and integrations teams during acquisitions, system conversions, and onboarding of new entities. Identify opportunities for process improvements and participate in special projects to enhance payroll operations. Requirements Experience processing multi-state, multi-entity payroll, including payroll tax reconciliations, tax payments, and regulatory filings. Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations, FLSA requirements, employment laws, and payroll compliance best practices. Experience with payroll system implementations, conversions, or integrations. Workday Payroll experience strongly preferred; familiarity with ADP SmartCompliance is a plus. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze and reconcile payroll data. High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred. CPP Certification preferred but not required. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and customer service mindset.
