Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to established safety protocols including infection control, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to maintain a secure care environment.
• Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and educate patients and families to promote optimal health outcomes.
• Conduct thorough initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance quality, and ensure safety.
• Document all patient care activities accurately to support compliance with quality measures.
• Effectively communicate pertinent patient information to physicians and healthcare team members to improve outcomes.
• Engage patients and families with timely communication that fosters understanding and supports health goals.
• Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability within the care team.

Education

Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.

Experience

At least one year of healthcare experience is preferred.

Certifications and Licenses

• Current RN license in a Compact State or the state of practice.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.

Physical and Mental Requirements

This position requires considerable mental focus, frequent walking, standing, lifting up to 35 pounds, and various physical movements such as turning, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching. Exposure to infectious and communicable diseases is frequent, with occasional encounters with hostile individuals.
