Account Manager

Key Responsibilities

General Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Lead the monthly financial close and oversee financial statements, general ledger activity, reconciliations, and management reporting.
• Manage, coach, and develop the General Ledger Accounting team while ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Partner with the Commissions team to reconcile and validate commission reporting.
• Provide support for Accounts Payable, Claims Billing, annual audits, and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and operational efficiency.
• Support the Finance Controller with reporting and accounting initiatives.

Budgeting & Financial Analysis

• Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with Finance leadership and department heads.
• Maintain departmental budgets and financial models.
• Prepare monthly budget-to-actual reports, analyze variances, and communicate key financial trends.
• Partner with department leaders to evaluate performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Cost Allocation & Expense Management

• Develop and maintain accurate cost allocation methodologies across departments and entities.
• Reconcile allocated expenses to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies.
• Analyze departmental expenses and recommend improvements to cost management and financial accountability.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Active CPA license required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience in a multi-entity or multi-company environment.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and cost allocation.
• Proven experience managing month-end close processes and meeting reporting deadlines.
