Job Overview: The Accounting Manager performs accounting functions of the firm and reviews with the supervisor monthly.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Accounting
  • Performs monthly labor and expense invoicing and follow-up.
  • Processes Accounts Payable regularly (approximately 30/month).
  • Participates in annual budget planning.
  • Finalizes the reconciliations of corporate bank and credit card statements.
  • Manages financial compliance in the monthly and quarterly close process, including entry of all journal entries.
• Payroll
  • Initiates bi-weekly transfers to payroll service, 401K and HSA accounts.
• Operational
  • Issues Certificate Of Insurance (COI) for Altieri projects annually
  • Manages and maintains payroll and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
• Year-End
  • Executes year-end close process, overseeing tasks including:
    • Preparing documents for corporate annual tax returns,
    • Annual payroll reconciliation,
    • Annual tax filings for 1099s and sales & use tax,
    • Year-end reconciliation and closings,
    • Yearly Research & Development efforts.
  • Liaises with tax accountants
• Additional tasks as needed.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar field.
• 7+ years of relevant accounting experience
• CMA a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, accounting software, and ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of engineering project lifecycles, industry regulations and compliance requirements.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, and GAAP
