Materials Manager

USPI Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Pinecroft is seeking a motivated Materials Manager Assistant to join our team . We have 6 OR rooms and 2 treatment rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in General, GI, ENT, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic, Pain, Plastic, Podiatry, Spine, Urology. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day. Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Materials Manager Assistant to support the procurement, inventory, and distribution of surgical and medical supplies. This role is essential in maintaining supply chain efficiency, ensuring the availability of necessary materials, and assisting in cost-effective purchasing for the facility. Responsibilities: Assist in ordering, receiving, and stocking medical and surgical supplies. Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular audits to track supply levels. Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement. Monitor and manage supply usage, identifying opportunities for cost savings. Assist in organizing and maintaining the storage areas for optimal efficiency. Work closely with the Materials Manager to ensure compliance with facility policies and regulations. Process invoices, purchase orders, and related documentation accurately and promptly. Support clinical and administrative staff with supply-related inquiries and requests. Ensure proper disposal of expired or damaged supplies in accordance with regulations. Required Skills Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred Background in healthcare supply chain, materials operations, sterile processing, or surgical support strongly preferred 1–2 years of direct experience in administrative, logistics, warehouse, or sterile processing functions required, ideally within a clinical environment Working knowledge of medical terminology and common surgical items is beneficial Familiarity with ERP systems, inventory platforms, or materials management technology is highly desirable Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Attention to detail with accurate record-keeping. Proficiency with inventory management systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Effective communication skills with both internal staff and external vendors. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to supply issues.
