Department: Driver Recruiting Group Job Summary The Onsite CDL Driver Recruiter is a crucial role responsible for managing the recruitment process for commercial driver’s license (CDL) holders from an office or remote location. This position involves identifying, screening, interviewing, and hiring qualified CDL drivers to meet the staffing needs of the organization. The Inside CDL Driver Recruiter plays a pivotal role in maintaining a skilled and dependable workforce of drivers who are vital to the transportation and logistics industry. Your efforts will help ensure the company’s success and growth by consistently sourcing and hiring qualified drivers who adhere to safety and compliance standards. Hourly pay + Bonus structure. Key Responsibilities Candidate Sourcing and Outreach: Utilize 10thStreet ATS online database, referrals, and other sources to review potential CDL drivers; initiate contact via phone, email, and other communication methods to assess interest and qualifications; provide information, build rapport, and influence potential drivers to drive for Stevens Transport Inc. Candidate Screening and Evaluation: Review DOT, state, local, and company requirements to assess qualifications, experience, and compliance; conduct phone interviews to evaluate driving skills, work history, and alignment with company standards. Compliance and Documentation: Verify driving records, criminal records, and employment history; maintain accurate records of candidate documentation and information. Interviewing and Assessment: Coordinate and conduct in‑depth interviews; administer relevant tests or assessments to evaluate candidates’ abilities. Candidate Selection and Offer: Collaborate with hiring managers to identify the most suitable candidates for available CDL driver positions; extend offers and negotiate compensation packages as needed. Onboarding and Training Support: Assist in coordinating the onboarding process for new CDL drivers, including orientation, training, and compliance with company policies and safety regulations. Reporting and Data Management: Generate and maintain accurate recruitment‑related reports, including metrics on candidate sourcing, interviews, and hiring outcomes; utilize recruitment software and databases to manage candidate data efficiently. Relationship Building: Develop and maintain positive relationships with current and potential CDL drivers; attend industry events, job fairs, and networking opportunities to promote the company and attract talent. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems (ATS), recruitment software, and related tools. Strong computer and typing skills in a Windows environment, including Outlook, Excel, and Word. Ability to handle high volumes of inbound and outbound calls and email. Ability to perform in a fast‑paced environment with rapidly changing priorities and competing deadlines. Strong customer service orientation toward candidates, hiring managers, and senior management. Initiative and autonomy, with the ability to work effectively as a team player. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field preferred. Strong knowledge of CDL requirements, FMCSA regulations, and industry standards. Previous experience in recruitment, especially CDL driver recruitment or a related role within transportation or logistics. Exceptional organizational and time‑management abilities. Commitment to safety and compliance. Attention to detail and accurate documentation skills. Strong oral, written, and active listening skills. Experience with TenStreet ATS Application. Skills & Abilities Cold calling and candidate screening. Lead generation and pipeline management. Interviewing and strategic thinking. Professional communication and time management. Documentation, detail orientation, problem solving. Physical Demands Ability to talk and hear; prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Work Experience & Schedule Recruiting, customer service, and/or sales experience. Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm. Workshift: M‑F (Day) (United States of America).
