Opportunity:

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• Nurse to patient ratios of 1:4-5, occasionally 1:5-6 on nights, PCU level care overflow 1:3
• Must have PCU experience and ability to read cardiac strips
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Profile review and manager interview required
• Must be able to titrate drips including Amio, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix, and low dose Dopamine
• Care for adults and geriatrics with cardiac conditions, post-cardiac catheterization patients, EP studies, pacers, ETOH patients, COVID BiPap patients, and general surgical patients with cardiac history
• Float to all areas as helping hands, PCU for full patient load, medical-surgical for full patient assignment, and some ER holds/boarding
• Any color scrubs acceptable
• 2 twelve-hour shifts of unit-specific orientation (Friday and Saturday of first week)
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted
• Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per contract; 3 shifts if contract is under 13 weeks

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a 32-bed medical/telemetry unit that functions more as a telemetry/cardiac unit with PCU level care overflow. The facility is a Level 2 trauma center that utilizes Epic charting system and provides comprehensive cardiac care including cardiac catheterizations, EP studies, and pacemaker procedures. The unit is staffed with charge nurses on each shift, patient care technicians, telemetry monitor technicians, and respiratory therapy support for various equipment including BiPap, trachs, and Airvo systems.
