Type: Full‑Time +2 Practice Overview Veterinary Hospital at the Lake provides full‑service small animal care to Sherrills Ford, NC and the surrounding communities. It also hosts the region’s only referral specialty center for small animal reproduction. Our board‑certified specialists in reproduction (theriogenologists) partner with breeder clients and their primary care veterinarians to provide pets with expertise and compassionate care in male, female reproduction, and neonatology. More About the Role UNDER NEW LEADERSHIP! Our unique practice offers a full complement of theriogenology services regionally, in addition to general medicine and surgery locally. The practice welcomes alternate track candidates. Our professional team consists of two boarded theriogenologists and one part‑time general‑practice associate. The hospital is an excellent fit for DVMs with varied interests, offering preventative medicine, wellness care, dentistry, and surgery. We provide a supportive work environment, a collaborative team, and a dedicated clientele that values quality medicine. Essential Responsibilities Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries. Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples, interpreting results. Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options. Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed. Provide counsel around pet end-of-life care. Maintain patients’ medical records. Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures. Requirements / Qualifications DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution. Appropriate state licensure. Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients. Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
