We are not building one-off power plants. We are building a product: GeoBlock, a standardized, repeatable geothermal generation unit designed to get cheaper, faster, and more reliable with every iteration. Supply Chain is not a support function here. Our job is to be embedded with Engineering early — shaping electrical equipment specs and supplier strategy before decisions are locked in, not sourcing against a finished design. The Sourcing Manager, Electrical owns category strategy and execution for Fervo's electrical equipment scope — transformers, breakers, switchgear, motors, drives, and balance-of-plant electrical systems. This role partners directly with Engineering on specification decisions, builds competitive supplier options where categories have historically defaulted to a single vendor, and negotiates agreements that determine both cost and schedule risk for every GeoBlock. RequirementsResponsibilitiesBuild and own a documented sourcing strategy for electrical equipment categories, including transformers, breakers, switchgear, motors, drives, etc.Identify and qualify alternate suppliers to reduce single-source dependency and strengthen negotiating leverageTrack tariff exposure and enforce domestic content requirements, and incorporate strategic principles into sourcing decisionsEngage Engineering early on electrical equipment specifications; help identify where specs drive unnecessary costBring supplier and market insight into design reviews before requirements are finalizedLead commercial negotiations for electrical equipment purchases and services, from RFQ through contract executionStructure contracts and delivery terms that protect schedule and give Fervo visibility into supplier performanceManage supplier relationships and performance across the electrical equipment category post-awardPartner with Logistics and Expediting to maintain delivery of long-lead electrical equipment by site-required installation dates Qualifications Required2+ years of sourcing, procurement, or category management experience, ideally in electrical equipment, power generation, or industrial capital equipment5+ years in the workforce with experience designing, procuring, or maintaining electrical equipmentExperience negotiating equipment or services contracts with meaningful commercial valueComfortable reading and engaging with electrical engineering specificationsTrack record of building supplier options where a category has relied on a single vendor Preferred Degree in electrical engineering or similarExperience sourcing transformers, breakers, switchgear, or other power generation electrical equipmentFamiliarity with tariff and domestic content considerations (Section 301/232, IRA domestic content adders)Experience partnering directly with engineering teams on spec developmentBackground in energy infrastructure, industrial manufacturing, or capital projects LocationFervo Energy is headquartered in Houston, TX.
