Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Unit

Location: Kearney, NE

Assignment Duration: This is a contract position of 13 weeks.

Schedule: The shift is 12 hours, either days from 0600-1830 or nights from 1800-0630, with every other weekend required. Up to 2 extra mandatory shifts may be assigned within a 6-week period.

Job Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the Medical Surgical Unit, including the potential to float to the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The RN will deliver care in compliance with established protocols while managing staff and patient relations effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care and monitoring in the Medical Surgical Unit.
• Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Adhere to established protocols and guidelines while caring for patients.
• Float to PCU for assignments as necessary.
• Maintain accurate patient records using the EPIC charting system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Current RN license in the state of Nebraska.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC).
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Telemetry training preferred for assignments in PCU.
