From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.The Network Operations Center (NOC) team within Leo Networking Software is responsible for tier 1 support for software defined network services at Amazon Leo. You'll join a growing team of network operations engineers supporting Amazon Leo's global satellite network. Our services operate at scale and support workloads critical to customer network performance and availability, so a passion and discipline around operational excellence is key.Key job responsibilities- Respond to and escalate network-related incidents in a timely manner, diagnosing and troubleshooting network issues including connectivity problems, performance degradation, and security concerns- Support deployment and onboarding of network capabilities across geographic regions, assisting in the monitoring, testing, and reporting of new network infrastructure including satellites, gateway sites, and points of presence- Monitor and investigate network performance to ensure maximum efficiency and operational uptime for customers- Build and enhance tools, develop best practices, and refine operational procedures to measurably improve network operations- Manage severity 2 and 3 tickets while attending on-call rotations during business hours and weekends- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including network, software, and security engineersExport Control Requirement:Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Basic qualifications- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust- Experience with Linux/Unix- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes- 4+ years of technical support experience- 4+ years of network engineering and deployments for large-scale networks in a corporate environment, including hands-on physical infrastructure installations, hardware integration, racking, and cabling experience- Experience with network monitoring and automation scripting using SQL, Python, or Bash- In-depth understanding of cloud networking conceptsPreferred qualification - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent, or experience with networking and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN, traceroute, iperf, dig, cURL or related) at an advanced level- 4+ years of solving problems with technology in the Telecommunications industry experience- 3+ years of satellite communications ground systems and operations experience- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure, or experience driving collaborative projects from conception to deliveryAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
