Electrical professionals contribute to power systems design by drafting deliverables such as one-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, front panel layouts, general arrangements, elevations, conduit/grounding plans and other details for substation projects. The Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) Associate Electrical Engineering Technician plays a key role in supporting the development of high quality engineering 2D/3D deliverables for these complex infrastructure projects. Under general supervision, this position performs technical tasks requiring general knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices, with a focus on creating and modifying electrical design drawings using advanced techniques in industry standard design tools, such as Autodesk Autocad, Bentley Microstation, and other CAD tools.In this role you will have the opportunity to:Supports engineering teams under general supervisionPerforms technical tasks requiring intermediate knowledge of engineering principles and practicesUses digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling)Creates, updates, and maintains technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverablesBegins providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering techniciansThe Team Black & Veatch Operations develops, deploys, and maintains global resources and capabilities that guide execution and process excellence across the organization.
