We are looking for an Inventory Accountant to join our team in Katy, Texas in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented Accountant who brings strong experience with inventory processes, payables, and general ledger activity, along with practical NetSuite knowledge. The position offers the opportunity to contribute quickly in a manufacturing-focused environment while supporting key accounting operations and preparing for peak business periods. This role follows a hybrid schedule with two in-office days each week.

Responsibilities:

• Manage inventory accounting activities by reconciling stock-related transactions and ensuring accuracy between operational records and financial data in NetSuite.

• Support month-end close by preparing journal entries, reviewing account activity, and helping maintain timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Coordinate accounts payable and related accounting processes to ensure transactions are properly recorded and aligned with inventory movement.

• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues that affect financial accuracy.

• Assist with physical inventory counts and annual inventory procedures, including validation of quantities and follow-up on variances.

• Work closely with accounting leadership and cross-functional partners to connect inventory, payables, receivables, and general ledger activity.

• Step into daily accounting operations with minimal ramp-up time and provide dependable support during high-volume periods.

• Use NetSuite to review transactions, maintain accounting records, and improve visibility into inventory-related financial activity.

• 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or inventory-driven environment.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience using NetSuite in day-to-day accounting operations.
• Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, including reconciliations, valuation support, and physical inventory processes.
• Experience with month-end close activities, including journal entries and general ledger review.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Ability to connect inventory activity with broader accounting impacts and maintain accurate financial records.
• Proven ability to adapt quickly, work independently, and contribute effectively with limited onboarding.
