Software Development Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure with Pulumi across AWS GovCloud environments.
• Develop automation for security controls, compliance evidence collection, and SOC 2 and FedRAMP audit readiness.
• Own CI/CD pipeline infrastructure, secrets management, developer tooling, and platform engineering initiatives.
• Build and maintain internal security tooling and integrations across the Boltline platform.
• Contribute to platform security, network segmentation, and access-control architecture decisions.
• Improve observability, alerting, and incident-response infrastructure; participate in on-call rotation and remediate platform and security incidents.
• Partner with engineering teams to embed security and compliance requirements into the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of software or infrastructure engineering experience in production environments.
• Strong proficiency in at least one general-purpose language, such as Python, Go, or TypeScript, for automation and tooling.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Pulumi or Terraform.
• Experience operating AWS environments, including IAM, networking, and security services.
• Familiarity with SOC 2, NIST 800-53, or FedRAMP security control frameworks.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
• Experience with AWS GovCloud or other FedRAMP-authorized environments is preferred.
• Preferred qualifications include ITAR-controlled or defense/aerospace software experience, container security, Kubernetes or ECS hardening, security scanning, SAST/DAST, vulnerability management, compliance automation platforms, and SSO, SCIM, or least-privilege access patterns.
