Accounts Payable Specialist

SUMMARY

National distributer seeks an Accounts Payable Assistant for the Butler, PA office. This is an accounting department of around 10 employees. This person will join two other accounts payable assistants and report to the AP Supervisor. There is a lot of data entry and coding of transactions in this job.


POSITION

• Processing accounts payable
• Investigating and resolving discrepancies
• General ledger entries and maintaining accounting records
• Weekly check runs
• Assist with tasks that result from a new software implementation

This is a temporary position, expected to last at least 5 months, possibly longer. It is open due to internal restructuring. Work hours for this position are Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. After 3 months of training onsite, this person could work 2 days per week at home, with 3 days per week on site in Butler, PA. Expected to pay $22.00- 26.00 an hour, possibly more based on skills and experience.


REQUIREMENTS

• Accounts payable experience
• Strong data entry skills; Excel skills (can use basic formulas that are already in spreadsheets); automated accounting software experience
• Good with numbers and managing data
• Organized and detail oriented
• Confident in skills but able to ask the team for help when unsure
• Maintain confidential information
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
