Manufacturing Engineer IManufacturing Engineer IOperationsManufacturing Engineering Supervisor7:30 AM – 4:00 PM Monday through FridayChester, CTPlans and designs manufacturing processes for a Production facility.Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for small projects and multiple tasks within functional disciplineDepends on others for guidance and directionStill learning the fundamentals of the Manufacturing Engineering Production Support roleUnderstands core concepts in Manufacturing EngineeringCapable of reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reportsConfers with Engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical informationResearch and analyze design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applicationsProvides DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) input for new product developmentPossesses basic mechanical systems knowledge and understanding to aid in the design and building of manufacturing fixturesSupports manufacturing of prototype and pre-production productsProvides training and provides ongoing support of manufacturing systemsAssists with improving Production efficiency through hands-on work with the Production floor and utilizing Lean Manufacturing techniques and Continuous Improvement strategies.Education and ExperienceBS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering w/0–2+ years' experienceBasic solid modeling experience. Experience with SolidWorks is a plusBasic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principlesBasic machine shop experience and knowledge of measurement techniquesPhysical Demands and AbilitiesAble to stand for long periods at a timeAble to lift 35 lbsAble to operate basic hand tools (screwdriver, wrench, pliers, electric drill, etc)All Employees ShallComply with the EH&S Policy and applicable regulatory and company EH&S rules and requirementsReport to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazardsAttend scheduled EH&S training programActively support the organization's efforts to meet or exceed EH&S goals and plansRecommend improved EH&S practicesMust be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and third parties.
