Registered Nurse (RN) – Endoscopy Unit UVA Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Endoscopy Unit, where we provide advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for gastrointestinal disorders using state-of-the-art technology. As part of an academic medical center, our team is committed to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care across the procedural continuum. The Endoscopy RN supports patients through pre‑procedure preparation, intra‑procedure care, and post‑procedure recovery, working collaboratively with physicians and the interdisciplinary team. Schedule Four 10‑hour shifts or three 12‑hour shifts Weekend/holiday call: 1–2 times per year Qualifications RN license (or eligible in Virginia) BLS required; ACLS preferred Endoscopy or procedural experience preferred, but not required Core Nursing Responsibilities Capable clinician, focused on expanding knowledge and skills. Consistently provides effective direct care, as part of the interdisciplinary team, to a variety of complex patients. Manages care and implements treatment plans at a refined skill level in collaboration with patients, their families, physicians and other members of the health care team. Seeks as well as provides feedback for improved clinical practice. Assumes a beginning leadership role but seeks mentoring in this process. In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. Minimum Requirements Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire. Experience: 1 year of relevant experience. Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. Physical Demands Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly; ability to lift/push/pull 20–50 lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. Compensation The starting base rate for this role is $39.90 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
