TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable. Position Description Serve as a liaison between insurance and health care providers to ensure the timely coordination, and accurate processing, of patient referrals required for medical specialty visits. Major/Essential Functions Act as a Liaison between patients, providers, and insurance companies to determine patient eligibility for Collaborative Care. Obtain pre-authorization information for any patient whose insurance requires pre-approval for care/service. Process pre-service insurance verification on new COCM patients. Communicate collaboratively between departments to ensure providers, billers, and support staff have all necessary information for a successful patient appointment. Occasional Duties As assigned by the Supervisor. Required Qualifications Associate degree plus one (1) year of experience directly related to the processing of patient referrals. OR High school diploma or GED plus three (3) years of experience working as a Certified Medical Assistant. OR High school diploma or GED plus five (5) years of experience directly related to patient registration, patient scheduling, patient billing/collections, the processing of prior authorizations, and/or the processing of patient referrals. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of clinical practices and procedures. Preferred knowledge of insurance verification and obtaining authorizations for patient care.
