Under general supervision, the Phlebotomist will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory duties, including specimen collection, processing, and waived testing. This position requires excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, and a passion for providing exceptional patient care. Schedule: A 40-hour work week. Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am to 5:00 pm Location: 33758 Yucaipa Blvd, Yucaipa, CA 92399 Primary Responsibilities Obtain blood specimens by skin puncture, venipuncture in patient populations ranging from newborn, pediatric to adult and geriatric Follow all laboratory procedures and protocols Accurately enter patient information and tests into the computer and accurately label specimens after the patient are drawn but before patient leaves Deliver specimens to analytical areas Work as a team member within the laboratory department. Communicate professionally with patients, providers and co-workers Perform other related duties as assigned Adhere to the Phlebotomy Clinical Laboratory Standards When needed, ability to work at other locations What are the reasons to consider working for UnitedHealth Group? Required Qualifications High School Diploma/GED Current National Certification OR Registration as Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist OR the ability to obtain the certification within 180 days of employment 1+ years of related experience working as Phlebotomist or Medical Assistant 6+ months of experience performing routine blood and urine tests 6+ months of experience with equipment and testing to perform quality control checks Basic level of knowledge of Life Support for Healthcare providers (AHA) Basic level of computer literacy Preferred Qualifications Experience at a multi-specialty clinic or acute care facility, and experience with a laboratory computer system New grads welcomed and encouraged to apply Bilingual (English/ Spanish) Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
