Kent Place School seeks a Head Middle School Field Hockey Coach for the 2026-2027 season.

Hours: 2:30-3:30 pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday (games may finish later and occur on Thursdays)

Season: Fall (September 2nd - November 13th)

Requirements:

• Prior coaching/playing experience at the collegiate level preferred; experience at the high school level required.
• Understand the fundamentals of field hockey.
• Have the ability to motivate players to reach their potential.
• Must have exceptional leadership skills.
• Must possess knowledge of rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport.

Administrative Duties and Personal Skills

• Must have excellent communication skills.
• Strong administrative skills.
• Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Maintains, along with coaches, the proper supervision of student-athletes at practices, games, and on school-provided transportation.
• Effective, active listening skills.
• Promotes good public relations through professional standards of conduct and presentation and professional courtesy.
• Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
• Have the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
• Ability to work effectively with others.
• Organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Adhere to best practices of diversity and inclusion so that interactions with students, colleagues, and other constituencies highlight awareness, competence, and sensitivity.

Other duties as assigned:

• Attends a mandatory preseason training session with the Athletic Dept.
• Participates in special activities.
• Complete all coaching accreditation modules and KPS training.
• Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Department.
