Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

This is a 13-week contract position.

Varied day and night shifts.

The CNA is responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living, providing basic nursing care to residents, and maintaining a safe and clean environment under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse in alignment with the facility's philosophies and nursing department standards.

Responsibilities:

• Perform resident care activities, including answering call lights and serving/collecting food trays.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as dressing, bathing, and personal hygiene.
• Measure and record food and liquid intake, as well as output, including drainage systems.
• Administer routine treatments and assist RNs and LPNs with more complex procedures.
• Collect specimens, including stool, urine, or sputum samples.
• Take and record vital signs, weights, and heights.
• Position and transfer residents, including the use of special equipment.
• Prepare resident rooms for incoming admissions and ensure cleanliness and safety of work areas.
• Report any changes in residents' conditions or behaviors to the supervising RN or LPN.
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

Must be certified through the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
