Summary Provides patient centered customer service to internal and external clients. Serves as a liaison between the pharmacy, payors, patients and providers. In addition, coordinates care to ensure patient intake, prescription processing, resolution of third party rejections, medication orders and delivery process. Responsibilities Coordinates care with clinical staff with any patient side effect and/or request from providers, patient or caregiver Supports staff training, transitioning and onboarding Communicates effectively in person, over the phone and in writing to provide customer service to the internal and external customers (patient, caregiver, physician, pharmacist) and liaisons between patient and providers for medication needs, including patient information, prescription processing, third party rejection resolution, delivery, storage, supplies, refills, education materials Maintains compliance with department workflow assignments and metrics Performs activities related to pharmacy technician scope of practice Performs patient intake, benefits investigation, obtains copay assistance and provides link to patient assistance or triages to other pharmacies or services Collaborates with clinical staff to facilitate patient and/or caregiver requests Coordinates delivery of medications in a timely manner to patient's preferred location (bedside, home, outpatient pharmacy) to ensure patients receive treatment in a timely manner Collects, documents and reviews all needed information to ensure timely coordination of care Competencies Accountability Customer service Effective communication Organization skills Problem solving Productivity Responding to change Standards of behavior Education and Certification Requirements High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required) Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT License) – State of Florida Additional Job Information Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience: Minimum of two (2) year of experience in a pharmacy or pharmacy call center setting.
