Swiss CNC Turning Specialist

A day in the life

You begin by bringing a Swiss-style CNC lathe online—one of the 20’s, 32’s, 38`s, NTY3’s, Hanwha, or Hardinge machines—verifying the setup against blueprints and set-up sheets. Throughout the shift, you run production to established procedures and guidelines, occasionally moving to finish machines, hand tools, fixtures, and jigs to complete critical steps.

Quality is constant. You read and interpret blueprints and inspection check-sheets, then perform AQL-driven inspections using calipers, micrometers, height stands, Micro-Vu, Keyence, optical comparator, and VICI measuring tools. When a dimension drifts, you correct the issue at the machine and sign off on setups completed by other operators.

Every part counts—literally. You keep precise tallies of completed and scrapped components, complete production paperwork, and record all required data in the company database. You remove burrs wherever specified, make smart tool changes and machine adjustments, and keep a close eye on work orders through the Visual Labor Entry system. You comply with all policies and procedures and take on all other duties as assigned.

What you bring

Hands-on knowledge of CNC lathe machines and CNC controls, with the ability to perform reliable setups and changeovers.
Fluency reading and using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and depth micrometers.
Skill reading and interpreting blueprints and work operation sheets to determine the proper process path.
Strong computer aptitude to navigate systems and enter accurate production data.
A self-starting mindset suited to a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Clear communication to collaborate effectively with fellow operators.
Organized, quality-focused approach with a drive to be Best in Class.
Willingness to lead by example and learn NGI processes and procedures.
