We are looking for a quality-driven, organized team player to join our Tooling Division as a Jr. Project Manager . This position will support the Project Management team with day-to-day project activities while taking ownership of smaller component build projects.

You’ll work closely with Design, CNC Machining, Toolmakers, Quality, Sampling, Sales, customers, and outside suppliers to help ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to customer specifications.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced toolmaker or mold-building professional who wants to transition into project management . You’ll gain hands-on experience with scheduling, project coordination, customer communication, cost management, and cross-functional leadership, with a clear path toward advancement into a Project Manager role.

What You’ll Do

Project Planning & Coordination

• Assist Project Managers with planning, scheduling, and tracking plastic injection mold builds, rebuilds, and component projects
• Support schedules for design, machining, assembly, sampling, purchased components, and final approval
• Manage smaller component build projects or assigned portions of larger mold builds
• Monitor daily project activity and follow up on open items
• Prepare project status updates, action-item lists, and reports
• Track milestones and communicate potential delays or issues

Scope, Cost & Change Management

• Evaluate the impact of design and product changes on cost, timing, and mold performance
• Help manage scope changes through formal change order processes
• Monitor project costs and resource utilization
• Identify potential risks related to material availability, machine capacity, or staffing
• Develop and communicate mitigation plans when issues arise

Customer & Internal Communication

• Communicate project progress, milestones, risks, and delivery expectations to customers and internal teams
• Address customer concerns related to mold functionality, sampling results, and delivery timelines
• Build strong working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
• Look for opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships

Resource & Vendor Coordination

• Evaluate project requirements and coordinate the appropriate skills, equipment, and resources
• Coordinate activities between Sales, Design, CNC Machining, Toolmaking, Quality, and Sampling
• Work with outside suppliers and subcontractors to ensure quality, cost, and on-time delivery
• Monitor supplier performance and follow up on outstanding items

Quality & Process Improvement

• Help ensure projects meet customer specifications, drawings, and internal quality standards
• Maintain accurate project documentation and records in accordance with company procedures and ISO requirements
• Support mold trials, sampling, and validation activities
• Identify opportunities to improve project tracking, communication, and overall execution
• Learn and apply project management best practices in preparation for advancement into a Project Manager position

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years of experience in plastic injection mold building, toolmaking, or a related manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of mold-building processes, including:
• • Design review
  • Machining
  • EDM
  • Mold assembly
  • Sampling and mold trials
• Ability to read and review mold designs and engineering changes using CAD viewing software
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow projects through to completion
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Technical training or apprenticeship preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred
